Volunteers Make the World Go Round

Volunteer Opportunities

Take your pick of working with one or many types of animals in one of our volunteer roles. All volunteers receive training, and all the love of the animals you can handle.

Without the generous help of our volunteers, we would not be able to provide the quality of care our animals deserve.

There are several ways to participate in our volunteer program:

  1. weekly long-term volunteer opportunities
  2. offsite adoption volunteer opportunities
  3. special event volunteering

*All long-term volunteers are asked to commit to 8 hours of volunteering per month for at least 6 months.

General Volunteer Policies and Procedures

Volunteers are required to observe the following:

Your point of contact is the volunteer coordinator. You should bring your concerns and questions to him/her first. If the volunteer coordinator is not on-site and you believe something requires immediate attention, the shelter supervisor or shelter staff is your next point of contact.

Report for scheduled duties on time. If you know in advance that you will be absent, notify the volunteer coordinator.

If you wish to make changes in your scheduled volunteer time, notify the Volunteer Coordinator at 760.757.4357 ext. 1244.
