Noah finds a friend for life
I rescued
a mixed-breed 3 year old dog and I couldn't have asked
for a better friend. He is so loving and compassionate.
If I didnt have Noah I really don't know what I would
do, especially when my husband is in Iraq. We love Noah,
we have had him for almost a year and I love him like
I had him forever.
Thank-you for having him at the shelter at that very
moment. My dog is my best friend.

Al and Rondo dream of an Oceanside dog park
Rondo
has been with us for 2 1/2 years now. He is a 74 lb.
mix lab shepherd. He is the best dog I have ever had.
I am 76 years old so you can see I have a few years and
at least 5 full time pets.
You can see Rondo almost daily at the
Lucero park on Douglas and Vandergrift. He does all
kinds feats, on command he jumps the rocks, hoops balls,
loves to kiss children. He barks a little only to
tell people "Come on over so you can pet me." Yes
he is a lover.
We also go to Starbucks on Camino
Real and Mission where we give him his daily treats.
A dream come true; A DOG PARK IN OCEANSIDE.

Sandy Bear lives a spoiled life, thanks to human kindness
Prior to her rescue, Sandy Bear was abused by a dude
who would get drunk and whip her and her puppy siblings
with sticks. A neighbor resuced the puppies and took
them to my mother's work and started to give them out.
My mom came home and asked us if we wanted a puppy.
When my mom returned to work there was
one puppy left. It was a girl and she was tan, black,
brown and a little white. My mom brought her home
and we put her outside. When we went to bed she started
to cry, so we gave in and I brought her inside. She slept
with me and still does today.
Sandy Bear thinks she is the
queen. She is the most spoiled border collie I have
ever seen. She still is my baby.

French Bulldog "Lucy Liu" shows her true stardom with specialized care
I
used to be the vet tech at North County Humane Society
and this past August the dog of my dreams, a French Bulldog,
came in to the shelter. She was relinquished by her previous
owners who did not have enough time for her. When I initially
picked her up it was quite apparent why she was given
up - horrendous food allergies and a fungal infection
in her skin.
Currently I work for one of the
most specialized veterinary hospitals in the nation.
My French bulldog now gets to see a veterinarian who
is board certified and specialized in dematology. My "Lucy
Liu" is
100% better and if it weren't for her coming into that
shelter I would have never known or owned her for that
matter. She is the joy of my life and I want to thank
the North County Humane Society.

Once shy Taz now rules the roost
Almost
five years ago my husband and I spotted a bi-colored
persian at the Animal Shelter. She was about 1 1/2
years old, skinny, matted and flea infested. She
was sent to be spayed and flea dipped and several days later we picked
her up and brought her to her new home.
For the first year that we had "Taz" she
would not come off the second floor of the house.
She would hide in the closet and run away when anyone
approached. One thing she did love was being groomed.
I spent hours brushing her to try to gain her trust
and raise her confidence.
She now runs the household
including the Min-Pin. She is still frightened of
strangers but she is the most loving cat we have
ever owned.
Everyone who wants a pet should adopt
a shelter animal. They remember where they have been
and I believe they are eternally grateful. We are
very lucky to have been able to adopt Taz and our home
wouldn't be the same without her.
Thank you.
